an ad rep. for a publication i advertise with at work chastised me today for forgetting to process a PO for our account by saying i needed a spanking. now, i know i'm young (compared to her) but i'm not that young. it might have been part of her "southern charm" (she calls everyone honey/sweetheart/dear) but i was anything but charmed. if a guy said that to me i'd be disgusted and to be honest, i didn't like it any more coming from her. i've always grudgingly put up with the "honeys" and the "sweethearts" but the spanking bit just crossed the line.

i heart cupcakes! i just enjoyed my first visit to cupcake royal in seattle's madrona neighborhood. good coffee and excellent cupcake! i had the peppermint patty; chocolate cake with plenty of green peppermint buttercream icing.

this must be the month of weirdness. the other day when i was waiting for the elevator in my apartment, i heard some guy talking on his cell in the elevator. when i stepped in the elevator, it was empty but i still heard the voice echoing in the shaft. turns out it was the repair guy riding on top of the elevator doing work while going up and down between floors. he rode with me from the third floor to the basement, chatting all the way. i almost wanted to call up and ask him if he was scared of getting squished when the elevator when all the way to the top floor but then i figured that was only likely in those horror movies.

i drove in to work sunday evening to catch up on a few things and had to come to a complete stop in the residential neighborhood where my office is located because a chicken was wandering across the road. i waited while the chicken made it's circular route across the street and continued driving to work. it's not an especially farm-ish sort of neighborhood so i don't know where this chicken came from but i assume it must have been someone's pet. i think this was a once-in-a-lifetime sort of things. i am not making this up, this really happened!
